SOCIAL SPOTLIGHT - Caring For Ageing Parents
Barry is the Manager of Health Services Chaplaincy for Anglicare and runs the Anglican Centre for Pastoral Development.
He has researched the topics of aging and dementia, and spent time in a variety of aged care facilities in his various roles. He has also had to negotiate the territory of illness, dementia, aged care facilities and dying within his own family, which has led to a greater interest in how we can live well and care well in the challenges of loved ones who are reaching the end of their lives.
Barry is a father, grandfather and a keen reader and swimmer.
Stephen is the manager of Pastoral Care in the Health & Hospitals department of HammondCare. Being based in Greenwich Hospital (and a member of the palliative care staff), he has oversight of Pastoral care staff in four facilities in Sydney, which offer palliative care, rehabilitation and mental health services for older people.
Before working at HammondCare Stephen was an Anglican clergyman for 17 years. He is married to Sandra and they have five sons from 11 to 18 years old, including 15 year old triplets.
